This amazing cycling tour of 55 km or so takes you along side the Layon river, this narrow river that runs down the famous hillsides before it flows down into the Loire. In this magnificent setting you bike mainly on cycling paths that connect nice wine estates famous for their AOC, Chaume, Bonnezeaux, coteau-du-Layon … As the tour goes by you can contemplate the rich cultural history made of castles, churches, water mills, windmills …
Famous for its medium sweet wines, this terroir alongside the Loire is an haven of peace which invites you to stroll with the noise of this little river as a background. The numerous cycling paths and greeways specially built for biking make this area a perfect place to spend time with the familly. Altought vineyards occupied the surroundings, the landscape is always changing and remind us that we are on a epicurean land where local food match perfectly with the local grape variety, the chenin !
140 euros TTC which includes : return transport from Le Mans (departure at 7.30 am, start cycling around 9.30 am and back in Le Mans in the evening), lunch and dinner (picnic and barbecue, wines included), visit of wine estates, snack made of seasonal fresh fruits, English speaking guide, support van and the rent of electic or normal bike.
